Mr West Cafe Bar

Sometimes, when you ride the bus in Seattle, you may be late, so you learn to leave earlier but then you are too early for your appointment… It happens! So where to go at 8am in the morning in the Denny Triangle? MR WEST!

This place is very nice and spacious. I like the bright lights and the plants all around. I felt very comfortable sitting there with plenty of nice photos to look at. Art is on sale if you are interested in buying one of the pieces.

This is another coffee shop that I will like to use as a substitute office!

One day I had a croissant that was so flaky and so good, that I asked the waiter if they were baked on site. I was not surprised to hear that they order them at Fuji Bakery! Another day I tried the savory yogurt. It was very original but tasty.

I am looking forward to summer time to enjoy the patio, if only there were less cranes and construction work in this area…

Eltana’s Bagels

These are my favorite bagels in Seattle: hand-rolled, dense and wood-fired Bagels.  You can buy a dozen, keep them in your freezer, and enjoy them later one at a time. They even give you bags to freeze the bagels in!

I like to have lunch there in a casual and nice ambiance thanks to the friendly staff.  You can choose your favorite kind of bagel (Plain, Sesame, Poppy, Wheat, Cinnamon Raisin, Gluten Free,…), then choose a savory or sweet spread: Date Walnut Cream Cheese, Pomegranate Berry Cream Cheese, Fig Apricot Compote, Almond Butter, Za’atar and Scallion Cream Cheese, Lox Spread, Harissa Hummus, and more. You can also order a garnish sandwich.

People from the East Coast may even say these bagels are good… for the West Coast!

I like the art on the wall: a giant Crossword puzzle by artist Justin Ken Elder. And if you are bored or by yourself, ask for a copy of the crossword of the week.
