Chop Shop

Update on 08/07/2016: Chop Shop is closed.

Chop Shop stands at the entrance of  Chophouse Row in Capitol Hill (read here my previous post)  They just opened and we were there for lunch. I liked the place and I liked the ambiance. We were seated at the bar and enjoyed the decor. This is really a very nice restaurant.

I had a Chicken Almond Salad with vadouvan yogurt (kind of curry sauce). The chicken salad was really tasty but there was too much of it and not enough greens and dressing.  My husband liked the Steak Baguette Sandwich (herb aioli, pickled red onions and heirloom tomatoes).

If you are still hungry, Kurt Farm Shop in the alley offers a fantastic chocolate ice-cream!

I need to check out their dinner menu.

They also serve brunch on weekends from 9 to 3pm.

Eggs Benedict and Pancakes

We have been going to this place for 8 years now and nothing has changed. They have served the same traditional american breakfast/brunch menu for years. This is not a fancy place, but I like the very casual and family ambiance and the always friendly staff.

Be aware that portions are huge! My order is always the same: Eggs Benedict and Pancakes!

Brunch at Tallulah

Tallulah offers a classic but tasty and fresh brunch in a nice mid-century Parisian brasserie environment. They have a great patio but unfortunately it is in the shadow around brunch time.

I am sure this place is very enjoyable at night with some cocktails and small plates to share. Have you been there?
